Nairobi and Masai Mara Tour Overview

This 6 day Masai Mara Reserve Safari combines two lodge experiences to offer variety in scenery, accommodation and wildlife viewing. Guests are picked up from Nairobi and driven to the Masai Mara with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. The itinerary features morning and afternoon game drives, picnic lunch options, transfers between lodges to explore different sections of the reserve, optional cultural or balloon activities, and a final return to Nairobi. The combination avoids long daily drives back to the same lodge and enhances opportunities for diverse wildlife sightings and exclusive safari experiences.

Nairobi and Masai Mara Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

6-Day Masai Mara Reserve Safari (2 Lodges)

Pick up from the airport or hotel in Nairobi and drive to the Masai Mara with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Arrive at the Mara for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Evening includes dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation options for Days 1 and 2 are provided across budget, mid range and luxury categories.

Day 2

Masai Mara

Full day of game drives in the Masai Mara with early morning and afternoon drives to maximize wildlife viewing. Picnic lunch will be served in the reserve. Evening includes dinner and overnight at the same lodge used on Day 1.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Second Lodge

Morning game drive exploring another section of the Masai Mara reserve, then transfer to the second lodge for check in and lunch. Afternoon or evening game drive follows. Dinner and overnight at the second lodge. Accommodation for Days 3, 4 and 5 is listed for mid range travelers.

Day 4

Masai Mara

Full day of game drives exploring different wildlife rich areas of the Masai Mara. Guests may choose optional activities such as a visit to a Maasai village or a hot air balloon safari (at an extra cost) . Evening includes dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5

Masai Mara

Another full day of safari with morning and afternoon game drives to further experience the reserve. Time to relax at the lodge between activities. Evening includes a farewell dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Breakfast at the lodge followed by a drive back to Nairobi. Drop off at your hotel or the airport completes the itinerary.
